Beck, what an incredible trip!! Very moving, and detailed chronology of events. It is like reading a documentary. It is reading a documentary! The Lord’s continued supply and protection are evident and I am glad to see you are completely recovered to have made such a hard trip. Continue to take care of yourself…bug repellant, sun tan lotion, sleep, wash hands, rest, eat wisely, sleep, etc., rest… Love, Mom

I was going to leave a clever nickname for myself until I realized that there’s really nothing that you can do with it. I mean, in the past 10 years this is all people have come up with: Sarah-bearah (sigh), Sarah Smile (umm…what?), and Sare (Debbie-style). Somehow it just can’t rate with Boombeckalecka or Kristianator or something of the like. But, I digress. That wasn’t the point of this comment.

The point of this comment was to say…uh, let’s see here….oh, yeah! I think you left something out of the bible you just wrote there. Wasn’t there another 4-star stay that you had? But with IVs and doctors? Or was that another gallavanting missionary-type-little-sister-person that I was hearing about? Well, at least it sounds like you have your sense of humor and are able to type for a very loooooooooooooooong time (I did read the whole thing – it was very interesting and entertaining), so you must be feeling well.

Please take care of yourself and I love you and miss you. I was just thinking that I wanted to call you only yesterday to ask how you were until I realized that I can’t call you. Sigh. So I comment.

Dear Padded Butt,
You had me laughing at your blog and learned about the new spiritual gift–the gift of sleep, while I’m breathing in the fresh tar aroma! It was good insight to be able to lay down how exhausted you felt and moved on to the purposes for being there. And the Lord’s grace and strength were there for you to do it. I need to remember that. Also, I see that missionary work in the country is for the young. Thanks for the indepth blog–I really appreciate your observations and experiences. Love, Mom

I had to scroll down for minutes just to make sure I hadn’t missed any previous blogs. I though to myself “Is it ever going to end?” Luckily for me, that wasn’t how I felt as I read it (though it did take several minutes to scroll back to the top). So from what I can tell, we should be praying for padded butts (which, of course, means good and plentiful food) so as to keep the good word spreading…

I had always understood that the various lists of gifts in the Bible, such as 1Cor. 12 and Rom. 12, were not exhaustive, but no one had really provided helpful specifics as to what some of the other gifts might be. So we can add “Sleeping” to the list, and it sounds like “Padded Butt” may also be one, though you were not definitive on that.

Does this internet experience remind you of what I have said: computers, internet, etc. were black boxes created for our sanctification? And I have been sanctified: I have not taken one hammer and pounded the heck out of the little devils! Each computer has remained unscathed.
I am so glad you enjoyed your trip with the kids to the land of consumerism. Hopefully, they won’t become citizens of this new land, but wise future visitors. We are praying for you on your current trip. Love, Mom
